why did you choose this career/study programme?

Climate change affects my career in a number of ways, for example choosing a building material that does not have a high carbon foot print is strong enough to last for several years,it also affects the desing of homes as it seeks to achieve ideal temperature within the enclosure without the need for external heating or air aconditioning systems. all this in search of the buildings is within the current regulations,which is increasingly aware of this problem that is getting worse every day.

In my city (Santiago), there have been some proposals by the municipalities to adress climate change, one of the most important and encouraging the use of bicycles in the city, establishing differents points to rent one,in addition to the construction of bicycles lanes and the installation of recycling points,another project by the government is to promote the non-use of plastic bags.All his has achieved a social and cultural change in people who every day opt for these sustainable methods of living.

I believe that in the future we will succeed in mitigating this and one ofthe most suitable professions to make the change is precisely the arhitecture that in certain way is the cause of provoking the needs of people with respect to the context that is creatd through this,so in a more conscious future architects will do everithing possible to reduce carbon emissions both in construction and in the use of these.
